How is insanity judged? Is it not the fact that people are different from you? People who view things differently from you and view the world in another way? I believe that there is insanity in everyone of us, different levels or rather different extents of madness in us. This is what makes each of us unique and special.
Everyone has different preference in life, different choices and thoughts. We deal with the same situation with our own way of thinking. Now we look at a person at Woodbridge (mental) hospital and we think he is mad. But in his mind, similar to us, is in another world where things are justifiable. Taking a person suffering from depression for example, this could very well be due to the excessive chemical/hormones built up in the body that caused the observed behaviour. They view the world as a dark and depressive place where there is no source of hope. That is their view yet we who do not view it the same way say its insanity. Even people who are "excessively" happy are thought of as mad. Why is this so? it's because we who are the majority, the average of the two say it is. I cry out for this poor judged souls. What gives us the right to say this person is mad, that person is insane?
Often in food, we are told that we are to consume a certain amount of protein, minerals, vitamins etc yet that is the average and nothing more. That is not, I repeat not the amount of nutrients that you are to consume as the "daily" amount. Its just the average only. Thats why different regions and countries have different recommendations which only further proves my point that we are all different. Now take for example we have a person (A) that requires high amounts of calcium compared to someone (B) who only requires a low level of calcium. The average would be the mean of the two which leads to a defiency of calcium in person A causing osteoporosis whereas person B having too much calcium causing another myraid number of health problems too. This health recommendation is wrong I'm tell you, wrong. Its telling you what society's average is and not we as an individual should really consume.
To get back to my point, the "expected" amount of food will thus show who apparently overeats and under eats just because they are eating the expected amount of food needed by their body. This is similiarly applied to the mind. We look at others that are different and say they are crazy, mad and out of their minds yet we do not look at those near us.
Insanity as estabilished is based on the fact that people are different in their thinking from us "normal" people. These truly mentally ill people have perceptions and thinking that are far more extreme than us. However why is it that i coin everyone having certain levels of insanity for "normal" people?
Take for example a typical sports person that exercises everyday, perhaps he will thinking people who sit at home everyday is a stupid thing to do. A crazy thing to do when life has so much more to offer. This is really the difference in thinking where one will not consider doing something that another will do. Of course in comparision to someone who belongs to a mental hospital, there is no comparision at all. That is the extreme in comparing. It is so essential to be able to look at our inner self and realise our own faults sometimes. Anyways, back to the topic, the above example illustrates the difference between people. They belong to 2 different worlds where one will relunctant to cross to the other. Just like how maybe a mad person who eats e.g. shit thinks its safe to eat and we know its not exactly the wisest thing to do on the earth. We are relunctant to cross to his world (go see a doctor if you think its normal pls).
From this, i can establish that everyone of us is different, everyone of us have different expectations etc. I've long looked for someone who is similar or same as me and i'm sad to say i've not found one yet. This is to be expected, for everyone of us has different levels of insanity. Note and remember when i say insanity, i do not at all mean that you should be admitted to a mental hospital unless your geniunely ill, your mentally ill and reading this blog (which is kind of twisted) or one of the people who pissed me off . Other than that, i really am trying to say, WE are all having minute levels of insanity that causes us to be different from someone else.
Of course we should all have mental hospitals still. The people who are "insane" or rather of very wide difference in perceptions of the world do need taking care of because they are unable to do so themselves. So do not go shutting down mental hospitals and releasing a lot of them to the public.
